및 솔루션 전문기업인 ㈜글로벌코넷(대표 김연곤)은 최근 정부기관에 XipLink WAN 가속기를 납품했다고 발표했다. 이번에 WAN가속기를 공급한 곳은 휴대용 위성터미널 ‘비건 익스플로러을 사용하는 업체이다. 회사 측에 따르면 인마셋(imarsat) 위성의 L대역 주파수를 사용해 전세계에서 자유롭게 위성통신망을 사용할 수 있다. 그렇지만 데이터 전송 및 응답속도가 느려 사용자의 체감속도가 많이 떨어졌다. 글로벌코넷은 이번에 WAN가속기를 납품하면서 실시간 스트리밍 압축방식과 바이트 캐싱, AFR, 패킷압축, UDP 압축, LTE 압축방식을 사용했다. 이를 통해 위성 트래픽을 압축·전송하는 효과를 거뒀다. 이를 바탕으로 패킷을 줄이고 전송속도를 높임으로써 패킷요금을 절감하고 서비스 품질을 개선했다.
